MasterCraft Union Limited Edition Relaxed ‘Peinto’ Pant.
This heavily aged indigo wash features natural fading, staining and abrasions, with irregular bleached markings recreating the character of a vintage painter’s work pant shaped by years of use. The unique markings vary by piece due to the handcrafted nature of the wash. The embroidered gold circle on the wearer’s thigh is a mid 20th century vintage workwear detail, but it is a nod to Japan’s ‘circle of the sun’, symbolised in red on the Japanese flag. For MCU, it represents 100% made in Japan artisanal jean.
The fabric is a lightweight 10oz indigo denim woven by an expert local mill in Kojima, giving the pant a softer, lighter feel while retaining the character of traditional Japanese workwear denim.
Inspired by traditional carpenter and utility pants, the Peinto has a relaxed, loose leg profile with functional workwear details, including a hammer loop and utility pockets. Reimagined as a painter’s pant, its utilitarian silhouette and heavily worked finish give it the character of an authentic vintage workwear piece.
It has an 11” regular rise and a leg opening of 19 1/3”. Leg lengths are graded by waist size: 32L for waist sizes 28–32, and 34L for waist sizes 33–40.
Fits on body can be seen in the Collections section on the main site.
The Edo fit is a comfortably relaxed jean with a straight leg profile, inspired by 1950s ‘anti fits’. This is the silhouette that once made jeans iconic. It has a 11” regular rise and a leg opening of 15 ¾
